GENEVIEVE’s GRADUATE STORY
NAME: Genevieve Neelin
FROM: Ottawa Valley
PROGRAM: Sustainable New Construction
My name is Genevieve Neelin and I am a designer. I studied fine arts and architectural history, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria. I work at Riversong Design, a custom home design firm where I’ve had the opportunity to work on everything from small home renovations to new timber frame restaurants and luxury cottages.
No matter what I’m designing, I believe that a thorough understanding of the construction process will make me better at my job. To truly understand how to build something, there’s nothing like trying to build it yourself. That’s what makes the Endeavour Centre programs so great. They combine in-depth theoretical knowledge with practical application and the opportunity to get your hands dirty.
After completing the Sustainable New Construction/Renovations program at Endeavour Centre in 2018, I moved to a farm in the Ottawa Valley where I have put my new skills to use updating the energy efficiency of the existing farmhouse.
