Prefab Bale Walls on Second Floor
- A panel is hooked onto the crane
- The straps are fastened and the panel is ready to lift
- The crane lifts the panel
- The crane lifts the panel over the installed walls
- As the panel nears the correct position, it is guided into place
- The panel is moved toward locating marks on the floor
- The panel is carefully lowered onto its marks
- Timber Lock screws are used to secure the panel to the base
- Each panel is plumbed to be straight and fixed with a temporary brace
- All the second floor panels are secured in place
In a repeat performance of crane work and team work, the Endeavour crew installed the prefabricated straw bale wall panels on the second story of the home.
Once the panels and framed window openings are linked and plumbed, we’ll be ready for the roof trusses and the site built straw bale walls.
The team is taking a break for a few days, so posts will resume again next week…
